Synopsis

At the gates of an isolated stone castle in 1950’s Tuscany, a determined young nurse arrives to cure the mute heir within. As Verena struggles to bring silent Jakob back into the world, she finds herself submerged deeper and deeper into the hidden secrets of the castle.

Beauty and the Beast

Summer is usually the slowest time of the year on the home market; however, this week we have the biggest theatrical hit of the year so far coming out. Unfortunately, Beauty and the Beast isn’t really Pick of the Week material. It’s not bad and the DVD or Blu-ray Combo Pack hav enough extras to be worth picking up, but that’s not enough to put it over the top. Harold and Lilian: A Hollywood Love Story

It is not a good week for limited releases. Only two of the films on this week’s list are earning any level of buzz, Below Her Mouth and Rupture. However, both are earning bad reviews and are playing on VOD, so their box office chances are nearly zero. There are a couple of documentaries earning 100% positive reviews at the moment, Bang!
