Synopsis
Richard is a buttoned-down college lecturer who, after learning he has six months to live, transforms into a rebellious party animal. To the shock of his wife and school chancellor—and the delight of his students—Richard leads a hilarious crusade against authority and hypocrisy in this dark comedy.

It’s a very shallow week on the home market. There are two wide releases, but neither are worth picking up. There were several that are worth owning: Dead of Night, Mothra: SteelBook Edition, Silent Hill: Collectors Edition, and This Island Earth: Blu-ray. However, there was only one true contender for Pick of the Week, Alphaville: Special Edition.

It’s a rather busy week for limited releases, but few of them are earning overwhelmingly positive reviews. In fact, some on this list couldn’t even make it to the overall positive level. There are some films that are worth checking out, including Last Year at Marienbad, Walking on Water, and The Souvenir. Of these three, I suspect The Souvenir will have the best box office run.
