DVD Releases for July 25, 2006

On the surface this is a big week for DVDs, but there's a lot of chaff and not much wheat. However, there are several releases that rate a purchase or higher including this week's DVD Pick of the Week, Animaniacs - Volume 1 and Pinky and the Brain - Volume 1, both of which are perfect for kids and adults alike. Army of Newcomers on the Per Theatre Charts

May 2nd, 2006

There were three films in the $10,000 club, and all of them were new releases led by Army of Shadows with $12,620 in its lone theatre. In second place was the Canadian / India co-production, Water, which earned $56,000 in five theatres for an average of $11,256. Per Theatre Chart is Sweet as Candy

Hard Candy easily won the race on the per theatre charts, taking in nearly $60,000 in 2 theatres for an average of $29,025. Friends with Money slipped to second place with a still impressive $17,611 average in 42 theatres, which bodes well for Friday when it is scheduled to open in several hundred more theatres. The only other movie in the $10,000 club was the overall box office leader, Scary Movie 4, with $11,167. More...
