Synopsis

Jonathan is a second-generation cop who gets in over his head when he's assigned to re-open a double homicide cold case in his Queens neighborhood. An anonymous source feeding new information on the long-unsolved murders to a local reporter leads to evidence suggesting a possible cover-up by the former lead detective, who was on the investigation. As Jonathan digs deeper into the assignment, a dark secret about the case emerges, which threatens to destroy his life and his family.

Blu-ray Sales: Puss Rises Above Tower

March 7th, 2012

Like it did on the DVD Sales Chart, Puss in Boots opened on first place on the Blu-ray sales chart. It sold 571,000 units generating $15.99 million in sales, and that's just from Friday through Sunday. Its opening Blu-ray share was 40%, which is excellent for a kid's movie. More...

DVD Sales: Boots Snatches Top Spot

March 7th, 2012

Puss in Boots opened in top spot on the DVD Sales Chart despite coming out on Friday instead of Tuesday. Over the weekend, it sold 851,000 units generating $14.58 million in sales. As a point of comparison, Shrek Forever After sold about twice as many during its first week of release, but it was a Tuesday release and it came out during the heart of Christmas shopping season. DVD and Blu-ray Releases for February 21st, 2012

February 21st, 2012

It's a mixed week on the home market. The biggest hit coming out on Tuesday is Tower Heist, which struggled compared to expectations and its production budget. The rest of Tuesday's offerings include more wide releases that missed at the box office, some TV on DVD releases from cable networks, as well as a few limited releases of note. Fortunately, there is a film coming out on Friday that is picking up the slack. Puss in Boots also missed expectations at the box office, at least domestically. However, it earned more than $500 million worldwide, not to mention an Oscar nomination. It is also the easy choice for Pick of the Week. More...

Per Theater Chart Still Feeling Crazy

November 8th, 2011

Like last week, Like Crazy was the only film to reach the $10,000 on the per theater chart. It expanded from four to sixteen theaters, while its per theater average remained strong at $16,657. The only new release that came close to $10,000 was The Other F Word and it was well back with an average of $6,643 in two theaters. More...

Limited Releases are Worth a Look

November 4th, 2011

It's the first week of November, which should be the start of Awards Season. However, there are not a lot of films that are really wowing critics. In fact, there are more films missing the overall positive level than there are earning award-worthy reviews. The Last Rites of Joe May is the best bet and, if you don't live in New York, try and catch it on Video on Demand. And, if you live up north in Canada, try and get to a showing of Billy Bishop Goes to War. More...
