Synopsis

In a Sudanese cotton-growing village, Nafisa grows up with her grandmother’s fairytale stories. When a foreign businessman arrives with genetically modified seeds and grand development plans, she becomes a key figure in the power struggle for the village’s future and discovers her own strength in the process.
