This site has all the usual information, (synopsis, bios, images, trailer, etc.), and just a touch of animation. However, there's nothing here that really sets it apart.
A new music video was added to the site, and I have to say, Meatwad can slam that axe.
Damn sheep! Got me again. You must be prepared to defend yourself when the site starts. As for updates this week, there are a few more jokes to read.
All of the usual features are now here, as well as a lot of extras like Podcasts and even a game. Adding in the animation and it certainly keeps the surfer's attention, but there's not enough for the win.
Nothing.
It's a Fox Searchlight site. That means in the end it will have enough content, but no individualism. I do like the trailer, on the other hand.
There's a 360-degree image that can be found by clicking the flickering light in the closet. Hidden features like this definitely make the site cooler, but it also makes my job more difficult.
The official trailer is now online and quirky doesn't even begin to describe it.
After months of having a teaser site that never worked for me, the full site is online. So far it has all the usual information, (minus the bios), as well as plenty of sound and animation. Each of the six sections not only has animated intros, but also starts with a video and an audio clip. The full trailer is online as well, but offsite. Overall it was good, but I felt it gave away too much; it almost feels like there's nothing left to look forward to in the movie. There area also two games, an environmental quiz that I aced and a roundup game here I got to level 19. (Note, the Round Up game is marked coming soon on the official site, but can be played on the site where you can watch the full trailer.)
There's nothing new on the site, but there's a new clip that can be seen here.
The game was added this week, but it was nothing special.
TV spots were added.
There's a new trailer online, but it is no more interesting than the first one.
The site is down. Hopefully this is just temporary. ... Yep, couple hours later and it is back up.
All the usual features for a teaser site, but it does have more sound and animation that expected. Of note, the trailer is currently offsite, but should migrate here shortly.
Typical placeholder site with just the synopsis, gallery, and trailer, none of which sold me on the movie.
Just the basics with not enough to stand out.
New look. No new content. However, it is worth noting that the travel impressed me more this time than the first time I saw it. That's a good sign at least.
All the usual features are here, but the heart of the site are the four semi-interactive sections. I say semi because while the user is definitely involved, there's no branching. Even so, they do add a lot to the mood of the site and surfers will given enough information.
Just the trailer so far. It has gotten me interested in seeing more, but I'm not entirely sold.
This is a good site with plenty of extras including a ton of video clips and games. I was more impressed by the clips, which include clips from the movie, behind-the-scene clips, and even a couple music videos. On the other hand, the games were okay, but more quantity over quality.
The flash site launched this week, but it is incomplete. This is actually a good thing because there's enough features here to entertain and enough marked coming soon to get a person to come back. Speaking of coming soon, the features not yet on the site are the bios, soundtrack, movie clips, featurettes, experience, and one of the two games. The game that is on the site is an ESP test, and low and behold, I scored within the statistical average.
The trailer is online, but offsite. Initial response, the franchise will rebound after the last installment. It's too early to be sure, but my initial response is positive.
The bios have been fixed.
The first half of the interactive quest is online. So far it's just as good as the sites for the other movies in this franchise. Do I really need to say more before awarding this site the apocalyptical weekly website award?
The site has all the usual features, (minus the trailer), as well as two clips. However, it's a simple site without enough style here to stand out.
The game was added this week. Simple game where you try to get high enough power to win, but not overuse your dark symbiotic power or you turn evil. What's cool is using the regular power gives you different cinematics than using the symbiote's powers. However, while it was fun for the most part, it took too long to load some of the sections and hung during the fight with the Sandman. Hopefully that will be fixed by next week. Also, five video clips were added to the blogs. Last minute update, finally got the game to work all the way through the Sandman fight.
There's a new site, not sure what's going to happen to the old one.
The flash site launched this week and its great for kids with information on the characters, a couple of games, and some activities. The clips are marked coming soon, and the number and quality of these will go a long way in determining if this site is award worthy, but so far it is off to a good start.
Mostly the just the regulars, but there are also several video clips.
The site is down, but the trailer can be found here.
Just the basics.
The flash site launched, maybe. It won't pop for me, even after turning my pop-up blocker off so I assume it's a problem with their side. (The game pops up no problem, so I definitely think it's on their side.)
Some more interview clips were added to the site.
Just the trailer, but it is effective.
WonderCon 2007 panel video was added to the site. ... All 50 megs of it.
Not much here, but there's enough time to add features before the film opens.
