Synopsis

A family of eight has found their home in the vastness of the sea. For 25 years, climatologist Dario Schwörer and his wife Sabine have been sailing the world’s oceans with their children. Together, they give lectures, fish plastic out of the ocean with schools, and take water samples. Privacy is nonexistent; every crew member must take responsibility. But as their children grow up, they bring new challenges and doubts. A long-term portrait spanning seven years between continents, in which conventional norms of upbringing, education, home, and security are questioned. Until a storm forces the Schwörers to rethink their life choices and family constellation.
